One has often heard, read and seen [on screen] the positive and negative aspects of Bollywood. It would be erroneous to state that Luck By Chance does a pol-khol of the glamorous industry. Let's put it this way: The film mirrors the behind-the-scenes drama and manoeuvring exactly the way it occurs in showbiz. Watching Luck By Chance is like experiencing it first-hand.

If you're associated with Bollywood, if you know how the machine works, you'd laud and applaud, laugh and smile, identify and understand and at times, empathize and sympathize with the characters in Luck By Chance. Zoya Akhtar's take on an industry that attracts millions of hopefuls year after year is bang on target.

Almost three decades ago, Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Guddi depicted a star-struck teenager's [Jaya Bhaduri] obsession for a top star [Dharmendra]. Along with the core issue, the film highlighted the behind-the-scenes hard work and labour that went into making movies.

Luck By Chance taps almost every important facet of Bollywood and presents assorted characters you've encountered some time in life: An over-ambitious aspirant who knows to make the right moves; an actress trying hard to get that big break, even if she has to compromise; an icon of the 1970s who desperately wants her daughter to be a star; a producer who looks at riding on big names, script be damned; a failed actor now looking at direction to redeem his career.

One of the prime reasons why Luck By Chance works is because the writing [Zoya Akhtar] is simply wonderful. Right from the characters, to the individualistic scenes, to the way Zoya puts them in a sequence, Luck By Chance is easily one of the most cohesive scripts this side of the Atlantic.

The verdict? Leave aside everything and hitch this joyride called Luck By Chance. It would be sacrilege to miss this one!

Sona [Konkona Sen Sharma] arrives in Mumbai with dreams of becoming a film star. She does whatever it takes, to make it. Vikram [Farhan Akhtar] has just moved to the city leaving the comforts of his Delhi home. He is used to getting what he wants and is smart enough to know when to demand it and when to manipulate it. Gradually, Sona and Vikram develop a romantic relationship.

Rolly [Rishi Kapoor] is a successful though superstitious producer who only works with the biggest stars. He is making a potential blockbuster launching Niki [Isha Sharwani], the daughter of 1970s superstar Neena [Dimple Kapadia]. The hero of the film, Zaffar Khan [Hrithik Roshan], is the superstar.

Zaffar decides to opt out of Rolly's film and that creates havoc in Rolly's life. Rolly decides to cast newcomers and finally, Vikram is shortlisted for the main role...

Luck By Chance picks up characters straight out of life and that's the beauty of this script. The interesting part is that each of these characters has a story running parallel to the main story. Although the writing is foolproof, this review would be incomplete if one failed to acknowledge a number of scenes that are the hallmark of this enterprise...

Note the sequence when Rishi Kapoor breaking down after Hrithik has walked out of his movie. It moves you!

On the lighter side, Farhan strikes a conversation with Dimple at a movie premiere and extols lavish praises on her.

Much later, an angry Dimple instructs Isha to patch up with Farhan, soon after Farhan and Isha's debut film has been declared a success. Watch the moments when Dimple recalls her early years.

The sequence featuring SRK.

If Zoya's writing is superb, her execution of the written material deserves distinction marks. This may be Zoya's directorial debut, but she treats the difficult subject like a veteran. Javed Akhtar's dialogues are remarkable. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music is a mixed bag; the score could've been better. However, the choreography of the circus song is remarkable. Carlos Catalan's cinematography captures the right moods.

Farhan Akhtar is evolving into one of the most dependable actors of his generation. He's very real, very believable. No wonder, this character stands out. Konkona Sen Sharma is exceptional. The supremely talented actress delivers a sparkling performance yet again. Rishi Kapoor is incredible. A performance that merits the highest praise. Dimple Kapadia is in terrific form. It easily ranks amongst her most accomplished works. Juhi Chawla is first-rate. Isha Sharwani does her part well. Sanjay Kapoor springs a surprise. He registers an impact. Aly Khan is perfect.

Hrithik Roshan is truly wonderful. Note the sequence when he strikes a conversation with Karan Johar, only to realize that he himself had paved the way for Farhan in the industry. Only an accomplished actor could've handled this sequence with aplomb. Amongst the A-listers who make fleeting appearances in the film, the one who registers the maximum impact is Shah Rukh Khan.

On the whole, Luck By Chance is an outstanding film in all respects. A magnificent outing from the producers of ROCK ON!!, Luck By Chance is sure to prove an extremely lucky and rewarding experience at the box-office. Strongly recommended

Live Earth India cancelled after Mumbai attacks

Organisers called off the environmental gig after security fears made Bon Jovi and others pull out

The organisers of Live Earth India have cancelled the concert because of security fears after last week's attacks in Mumbai.

Gunmen opened fire at hotels, a railway station and other sites across the city, killing more than 170 people. Although the authorities have brought the situation under control, Bon Jovi and other acts were quick to cancel travel plans - prompting organisers to call off the sold-out charity gig.

Bollywood stars such as Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan had been scheduled to perform alongside western artists Will.I.Am and Roger Waters at the Andheri sports complex on December 7. The concert was designed to highlight environmental concerns and India's Light a Billion Lives solar energy programme.

Organisers of Live Earth India said in a statement that they were "shocked and saddened" by the attacks.

"We always felt very welcomed and safe as we spent more time on the ground in Mumbai to finalise plans," they wrote.

British artist Amar Dhanjan, who was booked to perform, agreed with the decision to cancel. "It's just not important compared to what's happening there right now," she told BBC 6 Music.

The Live Earth concerts were masterminded by former US president Al Gore and partner Kevin Wall. They have taken place around the world, including gigs in London, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Sydney

“Kangana’s entry in Fashion with the catwalk was simply amazing. I was blown away and complimented her. I think she is so far the best model on the ramp. I have nicknamed her ‘catwalker’ for such an electrifying walk. She has done complete justice to her character,” he exclaimed.

Hrithik’s film Kites is due release in the mid-2009, he plays a teacher in the film and Kangana is one of her students.

Hrithik Roshan has dared and bared again after Dhoom2 in his upcoming flick Kites, he does death defying stunts and smooches his co-star Barbara Mori with utmost ease.

Apparently Hrithik Roshan in a stunt had to kiss his co-star Barabara Mori on cheek, but later it was turned into a smooch.

Hrithik confirms saying , “We were both supposed to jump off from a rooftop at an impossible height. Before we did so director Anurag Basu suggested that I kiss Barbara since we were doing something death-defying and dangerous.

I kissed her on her cheek to which she turned around to ask, ‘Given the same situation with your wife Susanne would you kiss her on the cheek?’ I was floored by her logic. The scene was reshot and I kissed her the way real-life couples would in the situation.”

Then Hrithik adds, “Is kissing such a big deal? Hasn’t our cinema grown up? There are kissing scenes in Kites but nothing to make me squirm. I’d be more than happy watching those scenes with my wife, son and parents.”

Hrithik also revealed the importance of the smooch in the movie, he says, “Kites is a love story about people in love. How do people in love express their feelings? Barbara made me realize how silly we look on screen while shying away from expressing love naturally.”

Well lets see if Hrithik manages to stir some controversy with this kiss like his previous kiss.

It was a hugely emotional experience for Hrithik Roshan when he inaugurated the Audio and Speech therapy wing at the Nanavati Hospital and donated Rs.2 million for the treatment of special children. The actor met his old doctor, Ramesh Ojha, who treated him for his speech impairment.

'All the memory of my past difficulties came spilling out at Nanavati. When I met my doctor who treated me at age 14 for stammering I could barely control my emotions. It's not easy to be a special child,' Hrithik, who inaugurated it Sunday, told IANS.

'You may be called 'special' to make you feel less troubled about your disability. But only a child who goes through the physical or psychological disability knows the trauma,' said Bollywood superhero Hrithik.

Sharing his own trauma at Nanavati was a cathartic experience.

'As someone who has a certain standing I feel it's my duty to tell kids with disabilities to chill. 'It's okay, guys. I got over it. So will you.' I think it's very important for me to convey this message far and wide and I want to do it more often.

'When I stood there at Nanavati thinking of all those kids who would benefit by the facilities provided by my money, I felt very good about myself. It's all very well to look after your own immediate family and care for friends. But I believe money should also be used for the larger good. That's what I realised Sunday evening.

'I feel charity is a very selfish thing. I feel so good after doing it. I'm sure those who will benefit from my donation wouldn't feel as good about life as I do.'

The wing has been named after his grandmother Ira Roshan.

'I shared some great times with my daadi (grandmother) during my childhood and growing years. Today, seeing my name and hers being associated with such a project, she must be smiling down,' said Hrithik.

Hrithik Roshan to play lord Ram?

If things go as planned, we might see Hrithik Roshan playing Lord Ram in a movie to be made by his father-in-law Sanjay Khan .

That Hrithik exudes a royal charisma is a fact. Ashutosh Gowarikar tapped on that very charisma to extract a superb performance from Hrithik in Jodhaa Akbar . Now, Hrithik’s father-in-law, Sanjay Khan, wants him to play Lord Ram in a movie called ‘The Legend of Rama’.

Khan, who last directed Taj Mahal , has reportedly been working on this project for the last three years. Also in collaboration is the UK-based writer Farrukh Dhondy. The script is being written jointly by Khan and Dhondy. Khan will produce the film.

While Hrithik has been finalized to play the part of lord Ram, Sanjay has chosen his own son Zayed Khan to play Laxman, Ram’s younger brother.

According to Dhondy, both Hrithik and Zayed are perfect for the said parts.

Amitabh Bachchan has been finalized to play the king Dashrath. However, it is not clear whether the superstar has given his consent.

According to Dhondy, ‘The Legend of Rama’ will be made in the same genre as ‘Lord of the Rings’. It will be Ramayana adapted to a modern format.

It will be interesting to see who plays the other pivotal characters of Sita, Hanuman and Ravan.

Farhan's Luck By Chance has got an interesting mix of characters

Farhan Akhtar's next as an actor post his rocking debut in Rock On!! is Luck By Chance which is the debut directorial venture of his sister, Zoya.

The film was scheduled for a 23rd January 2009 release date
but it seems the makers have postponed the film release by a week all thanks to multiple releases (Raaz 2 , Shortkut) happenining around that time. The film stars Farhan opposite Konkona Sen Sharma.

Luck By Chance which has the Hindi film industry as the backdrop has an interesting mix of characterizations. Farhan is playing the role of a struggling actor who wants to strike big in Bollywood. Konkona plays the role of an upcoming starlet. Hrithik Roshan's supposed special appearance in the film is not really a special appearance after all. The Jodhaa Akbar star has almost a parallel role to that of Farhan's. He is playing a Bollywood superstar in the film. His characterization is going be very close to that of his real life persona. Rishi Kapoor enacts the role of a typical Punjabi producer while Juhi Chawla plays his wife. Sanjay Kapoor making yet another comeback to acting plays Rishi Kapoor's younger brother. Sanjay is shown to be an actor whom Rishi is now giving break as a director. Isha Sharvani, last seen in U, Me Aur Hum is playing a big film heroine. Dimple Kapadia to be seen after a real long time on screen is playing the typical star mother of Isha.

That apart the film has a host of special appearances including those from Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan.

Zoya incidentally had made her acting debut in a short cameo role in Mira Nair's Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996) playing a courtesan in Rasa Devi's (Rekha) court.

‘Sussanne and I did crazy things!’

No, this is not Hrithik Roshan shooting in LA for Kites.

This is the Bollywood hottie chilling in Bora Bora by wife Sussanne. The Roshans took their first break since their honeymoon in 2003 and went to the French Polynesian island leaving sons Hrehaan, who is two, and Hridhaan, just five months old, with Hrithik’s parents back in Mumbai.

“We were away from the whole world. It was fantastic. We did some crazy, wild things which, of course, I can’t share with you,” smiled Hrithik in a exclusive post-Diwali chat with BT.

He is still chilling out at home. The Kites shoot in mexico and LA was a long and tiring bit of work. And Hrithik is happy to spend time with the family at last. “I celebrated Diwali at Farhan Akhtar’s house. For the first time I played cards. I lost!” he laughed. Sussanne travels with him most of the time, but it’s still work for Hrithik. That’s why they took a break in Bora Bora. The petite Sussanne is actually the adventurous type, said Hrithik, so there were a lot of adventure sports they indulged in.

They were enjoying themselves on this second honeymoon of sorts when Hrithik learned from Ashutosh Gowarikar that he had won the Best Actor award for Jodhaa-Akbar at the Kazan Film Festival for Muslim Cinema in Russia. “I had not heard about these awards, so I looked up the net,” said the actor, who was thrilled to be bestowed with this honour and happy that Jodhaa-Akbar had won the prestigious Grand Prix award in the same film festival. That apart, things are looking up for Hrithik. The injured knee has healed. “I can walk and do things with ease,” said Hrithik, who was operated on by actress Pooja Batra’s husband Dr Sonu Ahluwalia in the US.

And, with Kites he is flying high. “It’s a different experience, I was speaking in English, acting opposite foreign actors, and I enjoyed shooting for it,” said Hrithik. His co-star, the Mexican actress Barbara Mori, is “the best actress” he has ever seen. “She’s a natural,” said Hrithik, “Barbara doesn’t know what glycerine is, to emote, she gets into the skin of the character. She has a totally different approach towards filmmaking.”

Contrary to rumours, Penelope Cruz was never considered for the role. “Barbara was our first choice. But, before her, we did have auditions in Mumbai. However, Barbara suited the role to the T,” added Hrithik.

The Salman-SRK war took an ugly turn a couple of days back when SRK performed at an event. At the function, while King Khan was performing on stage, in the audience was arch rival and now foe Salman who was seen chatting with Hrithik Roshan. Post Krazzy 4 Hrithik and SRK had rediscovered their friendship.

But this exchange of friendly banter between Hrithik and Sallu did not go well with SRK. His ego could not take the fact that his friend was shaking hands with his arch rival. “SRK was distracted during his performance. Shah Rukh and the Roshan’s go back a long way. Rakesh Roshan and SRK’s family have been close since Karan Arjun days,” says an eyewitness from the SRK camp.

Some also feel that Salman was trying to poach Hrithik from SRK, which obviously didn’t go down well with Shah Rukh. The friend added, “SRK camp has been small, but strong. He has always gone out of his way to bail them out. Post the act, he even made a snide remark to Hrithik about his closeness with Salman.” A baffled Hrithik didn’t know what to make out of that remark. “He smiled and before he could say anything, SRK walked out.”

Hrithik roshan is bursting with joy as he has become the father of a baby boy again
.

Hrithik’s wife Suzanne Khan gave birth to a boy on Thursday at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.

The baby was born at 11.27 am local time. The boy is said to be healthy and weighs around 3.3 kgs.

"Both the baby and the mother are doing fine," a doctor at the hospital told a news agency.

Hrithik had been putting off all his travels outside Mumbai for last few weeks because of Suzanne’s pregnancy. The couple had said in an early interview that they were looking forward to a girl as they already have a cute son named Hrehaan. They had also added that they’d be equally excited if it is a boy.

And a boy it is indeed for the star couple.

Hrithik and Suzanne had named their first son Hrehaan (born in March 2006) by merging their names together. We wonder how they will name their second son.

Meanwhile, congratulations have begun pouring in for Hrithik and Suzanne from the film fraternity.

Hrithik was last seen in the epic drama jodha akbar . He will next begin shooting for his home production Kites , which will have him pair with Latino beauty Barbara Mori.

Hrithik sidesteps Zee Awards to be with his wife

Hrithik Roshan has put all his travelling plans on hold because Suzanne is pregnant with their second child. The baby is due any day now and the actor wants to be with his wife.

'I'm just not stepping out of mumbai for some time now. That's why I had to say no to the Zee awards. Right now I can't focus on any work that takes me outside Mumbai,' Hrithik told IANS.

The award function was held Saturday in London.

Hrithik is at the moment shooting for Zoya Akhtar's directorial debut 'Luck By Chance' in Mumbai. The actor has a guest appearance in the film - a commitment he made long ago and is only too happy to fulfil since Zoya is not only a close friend of Farhan's sister but also the first female director Hrithik has worked with.

'We've been shooting nights for the last few days. And I've one full song to do before I am done. That will keep me busy till the end of the week,' said Hrithik who acted in Farhan's 'Lakshya'.

Hopefully, by the time Zoya's shooting is done, Hrehaan will have his sibling and Hrithik will be able to travel again.

Hrithik Roshan's always been known for his sense of style, so it is no wonder that he's now on the cover of fashion magazine Vogue known to be exclusively for men.

"It's a paradox of sorts because I am not conversant with fashion at all. I hope they know what they're doing. They have me on the cover,” says Hrithik.

However, the actor who's known to be a sharp dresser doesn't care too much for the style icon tag.

"I get away with some help from friends in the fashion industry,” says the actor.

Meanwhile, the girls feel otherwise. Bipasha Basu as the cover girl for the summer issue, there is a lot of eye candy in store for the readers.

“I don’t really care about competition. However, having a good looking guy walking up and down and getting to see him so often, is a treat,” says Bipasha.

The Editor of Vogue India, Priya Tanna is certainly all praises for Hrithik. “He has been stylish right from the start. No matter if his movies do well or they don’t, people have always noticed him and given him attention,” says Priya.

For Bipasha, the shoot was a step back into her modeling days. “It is always great to be modeling,” says Bipasha.

Hrithik Roshan’s immense fan following recently gave the production team of a reality show a terrible headache as his fans just kept pouring in on the sets when they were strictly uninvited!

Said the unit hand of the dance reality show ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’, “We had a tough time managing the crowds as not only Hrithik’s fans gate crashed the show but also the relatives of the contestants who were strictly warned not to come! All this populated the show unnecessarily creating havoc and chaos! Even Hrithik was taken aback by all this!

Dressed in an ‘all-denim’ outfit even Hritihik looked tense and finally shook a leg to calm down his wild fans! He danced on Krazzy 4’s ‘Breakfree’ just to oblige his fans who had come from the nook and corner of the country to get a glimpse of him. We (the production team) suffered though!” said a frustrated production member of the show!

No chocolates for Hrehaan: Hrithik

Hrithik Roshan is a strict dad as far as his son's diet goes. Little Hrehaan, who turned two recently, is not allowed to indulge in chocolates.

But on his birthday last month, he was given a real treat - chocolate cake, something he's kept away from usually.

Said Hrithik: "He can have all kinds of cake...except chocolate. I feel his body doesn't need it for the first few years. Actually you don't need chocolate at all at any stage of your life. It just displaces your hunger for proper food. That really bothers me. The moment a child has a chocolate he grows addicted.

"As it is, from the time he (Hrehaan) has a life of his own with his friends he'll have all the access to chocolate. Believe me I know."

So is Hrithik a strict father?

"Only as far as Hrehaan's diet is concerned. As a child I ate the wrong kind of food. In my later years I really had to clean myself up. It was really tough, and I don't want Hrehaan to go through it. So I'm conditioning him to do the right thing from the start," the protective dad said.

Chocolaty indulgence apart, Hrehaan's second birthday was big fun for the birthday boy and his father.

"We had a nice little party in one of the clubs in Juhu. Sussanne organised everything to the last detail. All of Hrehaan's friends were there. We did the usual fun things, like a magic show and an air castle for them to jump around, there was a mini-train and lots and lots of balloons. But Hrehaan was most excited about the chocolate cake."

Hrehaan has something else to look forward to. He will have a little sibling by the first week of May.

Hrithik said: "I'm really looking forward it. Fatherhood will be equally beautiful the second time around. It cannot be any other way."

While shooting for the song, Hrithik was in severe pain as the actor is still recuperating from his knee injury. The talented actor continued with his rehearsal and based on sources close to the production, Hrithik would elevate his foot during breaks to temporarily relieve his severe knee pain.

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya was sure impressed with Hrithik’s determination as the actor simply went with the flow and delivered one of his best performances. Besides, Hrithik did not quite call it a day for the song shoot, but instead decided to keep himself busy with song editing as he wanted to ensure that he is portrayed as a never seen before phenomenon.

After the song officially released, Hrithik was busy planning his son Hrehaan’s birthday party and he picked the theme of ‘Finding Nemo’. Now, we are sure the kids would have been happier if the birthday theme was ‘Krrish’.

KRAZY 4 WAS in controversy before its release, not because of its content, but the literal music over its music! Ram Sampat (jingle composer) accused the Roshans of plagiarism. However, the buzz in the filmi circles is that how can Sampat accuse Roshans when he himself lifted the opening music piece from Requiem for a Dream for a Tata Safari ad and quite interestingly got an Abby too for his ‘original’ work!

Krazy 4 tells the story of four not so ‘khush’ guys in a mental hospital in Khandala – Rajpal Yadav, Suresh Menon, Arshad Warsi and Irrfan Khan – each suffers from a mental disorder quite distinct from the other. While Yadav lost it penning a book on freedom struggle, apparently, stuck in a time warp, Menon’s back-story tells the viewers that he was orphaned at an early age and is in the hospital ever since he was four. Warsi suffers from uncontrollable anger and Khan has got a fetish for cleanliness.

Their doctor, Juhi Chawla, wants them to be a part of the ‘normal’ society, and as an exercise, takes them to Mumbai. Once in Mumbai, things sharply take a drastic turn.

Chawla goes to fetch papers from her clinic and is kidnapped by Zakir Hussain. Menon witnesses the crime, but since he has a disorder of speech, he can’t communicate about the kidnapping to the other bunch of Krazy 4.

Why is Chawla kidnapped? Why would a gangster kidnap a mental-doctor? Is the kidnapper really a gangster? Will the Krazy 4 save Chawla from the baddies? All these questions form the narrative and the climax of the film.

The point is the film, though with its fair share of moments, doesn’t have meat enough to sustain viewers for even two hours. The songs could have easily done away with, particularly the Rakhi Sawant song and the car-song with Chawla and the gang.

The few scenes that work are:

The scene where Warsi meets Dia Mirza’s father in the flashback.

The scene where Warsi meets Mirza’s father and fiancé in the present (watch out for the timing of Kenny Desai and Ashwin Mushran, amazing!).

Yadav falling at the feet of an actor attired as Mahatma Gandhi and the actor slapping him on both the cheeks and Yadav quipping, “Baapu aur hinsaa?”

Of the cast, the best act comes from Yadav and Warsi. Khan is fine, but Menon is wasted, a part reason could be that he has no dialogues. Chawla and Mirza hardly have a role to take note. Rajat Kapoor, cast as Chawla’s husband, is fit for the part.

Director, Jaideep Sen, has handled a couple of sequences well; however, climax seems to be a bit too slack.

The break-free song has two versions: shot on Shahrukh Khan and on Hrithik Roshan and no points for guessing it’s Roshan’s act that gets the thunderous applause. A girl of five (may be six!) gleefully gave the byte to electronic media on being asked, “Who is the kraziest of the four?”

“Roshan,” pat came the reply. The film at the best is an average fare for the audiences.

HC restrains Roshan from using controversial songs in 'Krazzy 4'

The bombay High Court today restrained film producer Rakesh Roshan from using the two controversial songs of his film ''Krazzy 4'' that allegedly contain music composed by Ram Sampath, who had filed a Rs 2 crore suit for copyright infringement.

According to the court order, the songs, featuring actors Hrithik Roshan and Shahrrukh Khan, cannot be used when the film is screened in theatres tomorrow.

Justice D G Karnik while admitting the civil suit, allowed the release of the film tomorrow.

Sampath has dragged Rakesh Roshan, his brother and music director Rajesh Roshan, and company - 'Film Kraft', Super Cassettes, Sony Ericsson and Saatchi and Saatchi to court for alleged infringement of copyright of his music.

According to a notice sent to Rakesh Roshan and Rajesh Roshan, Sampath said he had created 60 seconds of music ''The Thump'' for a mobile company's television advertisement and the same had been used in four tracks in ''Krazzy 4'', including the title song. Sampath, who has received two Cannes Lion awards and an Abby Award, has not been given any credit for the track whereas Rajesh Roshan has been given credit for the same.

In the suit, he had urged the court to give an injunction against 'Roshans' from using the track in the film and was seeking Rs 2 crore as damages from them.

However, Rajesh Roshan had, earlier, claimed that the music was an original creation. The court heard the music of the advertisement and the film before taking up the matter today

Psychiatrists up in arms against Krazzy 4

Earlier this week eminent psychologists expressed misgivings on television about the psychological accuracy of the mentally unsound characters in Krazzy 4. But Rakesh Roshan is unperturbed. "We had a psychological expert on the sets constantly. We went to rehabilitation centres. We saw how mental patients lived. None of them lived up to the stereotypes of Hindi cinema where mentally unsound people are shown screaming tearing their hair and sitting awkwardly. In reality, such people are hard to tell apart from normal people. We've shown mentally unsound people in Krazzy 4 as behaving normally."

The producer feels the protests are premature. "Let them first watch the film. We're in fact going to set a new trend in the way psychological disorder is shown in our films. People should see the film before deciding whether we're in the wrong." He adds an afterthought, "Whenever my films are around the corner some stupid controversy or the other comes up. It seems people take advantage of our name. Otherwise how do we explain these controversies coming up just days before release? Why go to court if you've a problem, why not come to me and explain your problem….unless your intention is to create trouble."

There's a virtual war of words out there, albeit a friendly one between Rakesh Roshan and his namesake Rakeysh Mehra to come up with a viable script for the next film in Hrithik Roshan's Krissh series.

Says Rakesh Roshan, "Rakeysh Mehra wants to make an installment of Krissh for me. I told him he's most welcome to do a Krissh movie for my company and to work on the script. Krissh doesn't belong to me any more. It's become a brand name like Superman. Anyone is welcome to make a film in the series for me."

Rakeysh who has been busy with Dilli 6 has now started working on the script of Krissh. Explains Roshan, "While Rakeysh is doing his Krissh script, I'm also working on my own script. If his script turns out better, Rakeysh will direct the next Krissh film. If mine turns out better then I will. We may even make both the films one after the other. Or I may direct his script…. He may direct mine."

About composer Ram Sampat claiming Rajesh Roshan's music in Krazzy 4 as his own, Rakesh Roshan says, "I can't comment on this since it's a subjudice matter. All I can say for now is, the release of Krazzy 4 cannot be stalled now under any circumstance. All my prints have already gone to various centres . We're treating Krazzy 4 like any of my directorial ventures. Krazzy 4 isn't as big as Krrish. But it's just as important for us. It isn't a slapstick comedy. There're no double-meaning dialogues. In fact, the characters don't think they're being funny."

Rakesh Roshan's parting shot. "People seem to know more about our lives than we do. They've written that Sussanne is going to have twins. That's news to us."

Hrithik’s Cinthol ad is bigger than Dhoom 2

Actor Hrithik Roshan will help pen the script for a sequel to the blockbuster Krrish in which he played a masked superhero who could leap over buildings in a single bound, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, who directed Krrish said he and his son were discussing new stunts that could be part of the sequel.

''Hrithik has always taken a keen interest in scripting and has been an intrinsic part in the making of all my films,'' Rakesh Roshan told Mumbai Mirror . ''He will write the script of Krrish 2 along with me.''

He said the two had discussed the story in detail and would begin writing after Hrithik Roshan completes filming the historical romance Jodha Akbar.

Hrithik shells out Rs 15 cr as tax

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has emerged the highest individual tax-payer in the country for 2006-07. Hrithik, one of the most successful actors last year, paid a whopping Rs 15.1 crore rupees as taxes. Close on his heels is Shah Rukh Khan who paid Rs14 crore.

Bollywood actors have consistently been India's top income tax payers for many years. Others to have shelled out over a crore as taxes include Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and John Abraham.

It’s the film industry that takes the cake in filling up government coffers. Shah Rukh Khan has consistently been among the highest tax payers for years and in 2006- ’07, sources said, he paid Rs 14 crore in taxes—almost double what he paid in the previous financial year.

Akshay Kumar paid Rs 6.6 crore for 2006-’ 07 while Kareena gave the department Rs 2.9 crore. John Abraham paid a little over Rs 1 crore and yesteryear star Jeetendra ended up paying Rs 1 crore.

As for cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar paid Rs 5.75 crore. Interestingly, none of the top businessmen who snap up billion-dollar companies contribute much in their individual capacity to government coffers.

Hrithik and Ranbir come together in Bhansali's Next

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is planning a film with Hrithik Roshan and his Saawariya hero, Ranbir Kapoor. It is reliably learnt that the filmmaker is in talks with both the actors.

Bhansali, who was was in Paris directing the musical Padmavati, returned to Mumbai last week ‘Bhansali’s back’ Says a source, “Although Sanjay was put off with the response he got post Saawariya, it has not affected the story-teller. He was meant to start his Heera Mandi project after Saawariya but now he wants to put that on the backburner. He has a two-hero, one-heroine script ready and that is the one he wants to start early next year.”

The source adds, “Bhansali has already sent a copy to Hrithik Roshan. On the other hand, Ranbir has spoken to Sanjay about the project and is going to be a part of this project too. The film is also said to be backed by Sony Pictures after the two made Saawariya,” the source concludes.

Says Ranbir Kapoor, “I have not been approached.” Rakesh Roshan simply said, “I have no idea about any such development.” The source further adds, “The concerned parties are not supposed to reveal anything till it is finalised.”

There is hardly anyone else in Bollywood who can match the nimble-footed grace of HRITHIK ROSHAN .

The first look of Hrithik’s first-ever item song ‘Break Free’ in papa Rakesh Roshan’s home production KRAZZY 4 is out. And Hrithik looks dazzling in a red costume with chains strapped around his waist over stone-grey cargo pants. Hrithik’s styling is done by Anahita Shroff.

The song, shot at Yashraj studios and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya has Hrithik doing some incredibly difficult dance steps despite his long-sustained knee injury.

Titled ‘Break Free’, the song is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by Vishal.

The movie also has SRK in another item number called ‘Break Free’ that has the same tune but slightly different lyrics.

While SRK’s song will be part of the film (probably the opening track), Hrithik’s number will come when the end credits roll.

‘Krazzy 4’ tells the story of four crazy people. The roles are played by Irfan khan , arshad warsi , and rajpal yadav suresh menon . juhi chawla plays a doctor in the film.

I've seen one of her films.. and stuff on the YouTube. Dad, Anurag (Basu) and I loved her. (Grins) Obviously, since we found her.

It's said that you were upset with Ahmed Khan for not giving enough time to the song-and-dance number. So you have choreographed the moves yourself.
Look, as it has turned out, Ganesh Acharya has choreographed the song and he's done a fantastic job. Yes, there were times when Ganesh would explain a move to me and I'd do a step my way. But I'm an actor, not a choreographer.

Isn't such a number mainly a crowd pulling gimmick?
Well, the idea is to bring in more crowds but if you're saying it was an afterthought, then the answer is no. The number was always a part of the script. But I was recuperating from my knee problems and couldn't shoot. So dad approached Shah Rukh who went out of his way to do the song. Shah Rukh Khan's item number in Krazzy 4 is playing on TV.. Mine will be on air soon. And it'll be very different from Shah Rukh's.

The number by SRK and then by you were both shot at Yash Raj studio even though reportedly your father (Rakesh Roshan) was stopped from exploring the premises?
What nonsense, it's silly to even talk about this! Do you think any studio would deny access to one of the top producers of the country? A studio's objective is to earn money.. how will it do that by turning prospective clients away? Dad and Yash uncle (Yash Chopra) go back a long way, they're really close.

Weren't you supposed to be in Aditya Chopra's Rab ne Bana di Jodi?
No.

Okay, have you been approached for any other Yash Raj film of late?
Not so far.

Now you're modelling for a soap. For decades soap commercials have been associated with divas. So why step into a woman's world?
Oh, the transition happened decades ago. I'd watch my favourite heroes riding on horseback, exuding confidence, energy and drive for soap commercials.

Remember Vinod Khanna in the Cinthol ad years ago? I'm happy to be associated with the brand, more so because the Godrejs have been family friends.

In terms of action, the Cinthol ad was bigger than Dhoom 2. It instilled an anger and determination in me to get it perfect, whether I was rock climbing or zooming on a bike.

It had to be better than anything I'd done before because I identify with the catch-line completely.

Unstoppable, that's you?
Yeah, as long as there's life, one should carry on no matter what the ups and downs.

In eight years you've seen the highs and the lows. Where do you see yourself at this stage in your career?
For me success is not measured by career prospects. It means being free to be myself, lead the life the way I want to, without adapting to social norms or worrying about creating the wrong impression. (Smiles) In that respect, I'd say I'm very successful.. though success is a relative term.

You've played so many unreal film characters. There must be times when you start believing you're a superhero?
It takes a lot of sweat, blood and time to infuse life and dignity to these characters. Once the job is done, it's easy for me to bounce back to being myself. (Laughs) I'm like this spring.. stretch and recoil.

Yes, after Koi... Mil Gaya when I got back to being myself I was a lot sharper and smarter. And after all the hectic activity in Dhoom, I just wanted to laze around and gobble chocolates.

I'm so different from the characters I portray that when I watch myself on screen, I look on in disbelief and wonder if that's really me.

And after Akbar?
(Laughs) I was Akbar for so long that the lines got a little blurred.

The reactions to Jodhaa Akbar have been mixed.
That's understandable given the genre, the magnitude and the fact that the film was not playing to the gallery. It was one man's vision. Even for mainstream films like Krrish and Dhoom 2, there's been one person out of 10 who didn't like the movies. For me criticism is as welcome as the compliments because they help me learn where we could have done better.

What about the feedback to your performance?
It's overwhelming. (Smiles) When Sairaji (Saira Banu) called to invite me over to her home because Dilip uncle (Dilip Kumar) wanted to give me a hug, that was bigger for me than the Oscars.

I'm thankful to Ashutosh for believing I could pull off the role when I was so unsure myself. The film was banned in certain states like Rajasthan, UP and MP following protests though the ban was lifted after a couple of weeks. No one should have the right to ban a film after the Censor Board has passed it. But the sad truth is that in our country there are so many different sections that are difficult to control.

If someone decides to go on the offensive for personal gratification or to be on national TV, how do you stop him? It's the filmmakers who stand to lose. Jodhaa Akbar would have been a much bigger hit had it not been for these bans. It's high time we grew up.

How's your sister Sunaina? There's been a lot written about her illness?
She's fine. Looking at her you won't even think she has cough and cold. That's how strong she is.

She must be excited about having another niece or nephew in less than a month?
We're all very excited. Everyone's hunting for names.

What's Rehaan's reaction?
(Smiles) At the moment my son is trying to understand the concept of birth. He points to his mother's stomach and says, "Baby."

Since Rehaan looks like you, are you now hoping for a daughter who's a mirror image of her mother?
Rehaan looks like Sussanne. As for a daughter, why think of something over which you have no control?

The actor, who says that his number is better than Shah Rukh Khan and Rakhi Sawant's, talks to Girish Rao about life after Jodhaa Akbar, his latest ad, and his upcoming film, Kites.

You must have received a lot of compliments for your work in Jodhaa Akbar. Which one was the best?

I have been receiving compliments for the film since the day it released. I am just overwhelmed. Things have never been so good. The compliments have always been in the superlatives. I am trying to assess if they are real or not. Saira (Banu) aunty called me up one day and informed me that Dilip (Kumar) uncle wanted to give me a hug for my role. He was very impressed and there can't be a compliment bigger than this. I don't think that the feedback for any of my films has lasted so long. None of my releases till date has given me so much of success, love and respect than Jodhaa Akbar. This is my best phase; such a good thing has not happened before. I thank all my fans and Ashutosh (Gowariker) for believing in me for this role. But there were a lot of protests regarding the film?

Well, of course, that was very frustrating. You have to accept the fact that there are some minds, which look to grab opportunities. What happened was ridiculous. There was no any consensus on the objections, and there was no need to retaliate. Thankfully, everything faded later on and now the film is on its path of success again.

This hero who had a brief period of rest, has undauntingly completed his song sequence for the film. If the rumor mills are to be believed, he is reported to be editing the song from his home in Juhu, Mumbai. At other times is resting his legs completly.

While speedster Sreesanth is delighted to be back in the Test squad for the home series against South Africa, there's another thing that's exciting him no end. "I am very happy that I have been selected," he says, "but I'm more excited about playing for the forthcoming IPL matches. The very thought that a Malayali will play from the Punjab is very funny," he says, laughing.

Sreesanth also had all of us excited recently, when rumours of his romance with Priyanka Chopra made headlines. So, what gives? "It's all false. We are just good friends. She is a very nice person and I like her. When I get a girl in my life, I will not shy away from flaunting her," says Sreesanth, who also admits that it was the fear of a ban that ultimately calmed his on-field aggression. "I'm living my name now. I'm 'santh'," he quips.

But he looks anything but 'santh' as he shows off his new haircut. "I am a huge fan of HRITHIK ROSHAN," he reveals. "So this time, when I was playing in Australia, I took some time out and went for a haircut in Sydney. I got a cut that is similar to HRITHIK's in the film Lakshya. Don't I look somewhat like HRITHIK now?" he wants to know, making sure that we also get a glimpse of his new tattoo, by flexing his biceps. And so we ask him about that. "I've got two tattoos now – the one on the right arm has the word 'faith' written in Japanese. And there's a scorpion on my left bicep." Wasn't it painful? So, do we get more of him covered in tattoos? "Yes. In fact, the first time I got a tattoo done was while I was leaving for the England tour. "I don't think so. Jaideep and I may not be working together, but we respect one another's work. Never mind. I'll dance my heart out in my own production. One advantage of producing your own film is, no one can stop you from doing what you want," Arshad told IANS.

Sen told him that a dance sequence would not suit his character.

Anil Kapoor: Truly Mr India

"I told my director that I wanted to dance, but I was turned down. I don't know why. The reason given was because it would go against my character. Besides, Shah Rukh Khan and HRITHIK, who've done item songs for Krazzy 4, can add to the film's commercial viability. I can't. Even today I've a tough time getting leading ladies to agree to pair with me," admitted Arshad candidly.

Recently, Lara Dutt opted out of Anil Kapoor's Short Cut when she heard Arshad was her co-star. And now the actor is looking for a suitable leading lady for his first production tentatively entitled I Believe In Angels.

The project has been in the news for being dumped by Krazzy 4 director Sen, who has opted out.

"But no sweat," said the ever-optimistic Arshad. "This often happens when an actor or a director is recognised overnight. After the news spread that Sen had done a good job in Krazzy 4, he was flooded with offers. He no longer found my project worthy of his attention. No problem. I immediately approached my friend Kabeer Kaushik, who has earlier directed me in Saher. "To be frank I always wanted Kabeer. He had the guts and vision to cast me as the positive lead in Saher at a time when I was typecast as a supporting comic actor. But Kabeer was busy with his current assignment Chamko (featuring Bobby Deol). So I went to Jaideep whose work I really like in Krazzy 4, but now when Kabeer is finishing with Chamko in May, he can go right into my film."

Meanwhile, Arshad is busy with pre-production work.

"I'm getting everything into place so that by the time Kabeer is free in May he just has to come on- board to direct. No matter what, my film, which has lots of F-X and supernatural stuff, will take off July 15. But please, it is not a film about spooks. My wife Maria is the official producer. She would rather see me as a dost (friend) than ghost."

Arshad's last release Sunday was did not fare well at the box office. "But I enjoyed working with Irrfan Khan. Now we're together again in Krazzy 4 and that's been quite an experience."

Their ultimate compliment for Arshad came from HRITHIK ROSHAN who said Arshad didn't seem to be acting at all.

"That's right," Arshad admits softly. "HRITHIK did say I was a natural in Krazzy 4. That meant a lot. All of us actors are hungry for compliments and they aren't very easy to come by from colleagues."

Arshad's next Munnabhai movie is very much on. It sees him with Sanjay Dutt again. They will both head to US for further adventures.

The film fell by less than 50% when compared to 9 crores odd that it earned in it’s third week. Shah Rukh Khan went out of his way to accommodation the Roshans by shooting an item song for their production Krazzy 4, and Hrithik can’t thank the busy Khan enough. “I’m doing the song for my own home production. But Shah has gone out of his way to accommodate the project because he respects dad. His gesture has touched all of us. It’s very kind of him. He doesn’t need to dance.”

Hrithik can’t stop raving about the item song. “It’s the best dance track I’ve ever performed. My uncle Rajesh Roshan has outdone himself. And Vishal Dadlani who has sung the number has also been enormously gracious. He didn’t accept the cheque that my dad gave him after the song. He did it for my dad and uncle. As a family we Roshans are overwhelmed by the respect that has been shown by everyone associated with the item song.”

Tell him it’s because of the respect his dad’s banner commands and Hrithik corrects me. “No I think it’s more to do with the kind of person my father is. If he wasn’t the person he is, Shah Rukh, Vishal and each person else wouldn’t have gone out of their way to accommodate us, no matter how successful we may be. I think my dad has earned the respect he gets. He doesn’t command it.”

Hrithik further informs, “Shah Rukh’s version of the song will be part of the main movie, while mine will be used in the end titles, also on MTV, Channel V and other promotional campaigns for television.” The triumphant Jodhaa Akbar behind him Hrithik is now looking forward to starting his next film with Anurag Basu. “That’s one film I’m really looking forward to. I’m a big fan of Anurag’s cinema. I think he’s a very susceptible director. He’s really going to be doing something different with me. I can’t say much about the subject. But it will be a diverse experience for me, though something right up his alley.”

The industry was abuzz about Sonam Kapoor being Hrithik’s leading lady in Anurag’s film. “Both Dad and I think Sonam is wonderful. But she was never considered for Anurag’s film. The role requires someone from abroad. So yeah, I’ll have an worldwide co-star in Anurag’s film.” Hrithik and Aishwarya looked pretty international in Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa-Akbar. “I can’t dispute that. It’s so true. Ash and I share a fabulous rapport. It’s always fun to work with a co-star who isn’t selfish. We both gave so much of ourselves to Jodhaa Akbar. Aishwarya has been one of my most helpful co-stars. I really cherish working with her. She is an incredible actor and an even better co-star. Hrithik craves for the perfect chemistry with his co-star. “I don’t think it’s possible for me to give my best if my co-star isn’t doing the same. I try to surround myself with like-minded people. She is just one movie old, but Sonam sure reflects the attitude of a star as she has turned down one the biggest star in the business. Sonam was offered a role by Anurag Basu for his next tentatively titled ‘Kites’, but the young actress refused as the role demanded some bold love scenes.

Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan are both quite fond of Sonam and they sure tired to convince the actress to accept the offer, but the Kapoor girl simply rejected as the bold modern character in the movie would not go well with her girl-next-door image which has sure helped her build a huge fan base.

Deepika Padukone was lobbying hard to be a part of the movie, but Roshans did not sign her as she lacked the passion while dancing. Penelope Cruz was next on the list, but apparently she looks older to Hrithik.

After shopping for an actress for weeks in LA, Rakesh Roshan and Anurag have settled for the Japanese-Mexican beauty Barbara Mori. Deepika is disheartened as she was hopeful of bagging the role, but we are glad that at least for once Sonam managed to cut Deepika’s ‘Kite’ in style.

‘Hrithik is a super dad’

“I’m not bald, but shave my head everyday,” insists Rakesh Roshan responding to the first question about bald men and shiny pates. He lets me in on his ‘bald’ story, before going on to talk about Hrithik and his historical movie — another conquer of sorts for Duggu.

And, people thought Hrithik did well only in papa Roshan’s films.

“He proved himself in Lakshya, Dhoom , and now has done extraordinarily well as Akbar. His performance took me by surprise,” says Rakesh. “I knew Hrithik can fit into any role, but I wasn’t so sure of him as Akbar. I’m glad he waived off my uncertainty. Today, I proudly say that Hrithik is a good actor.”

Busy raking in the moolah having produced and directed blockbusters, complemented with a successful actor-son, two lovely grandchilden, Hrehaan and Suranika, and with one more on the way, life seems to be as rosy for Roshan Sr as his naturally flushed cheeks.

“There are moments and there are moments,” says the filmmaker, “You have the ups and the downs. Filmmaking is a labourer’s job. The energy and hardwork that goes into making a film cannot be fathomed.”

Talking about the ‘downs’, not many know of Rakesh’s elder daughter Sunaina’s fight against cervical cancer. “She’s a fighter, today she is up and about helping me with the production of my film Krazzy 4 .” About how he coped with the unfortunate occurrence as a father, Rakesh says, “We Roshans are very family oriented. And, while she claims to have got her strength from the family, I got mine from there, too.”

With the conversation having gone the ‘family way’, is Rakesh looking forward to Hrithik’s second one, and becoming grand daddy all over again? “You see, I became a father when I was very young, and now I’m a young grand father, too. It’s a good thing as you are constantly complimented with. You don’t look like a grandfather at all! So, yes, additions to the family always bring joy. More the merrier, I say!”

How is Hrithik as a father? “Hrehaan looks more like Sussane,” informs Rakesh, “But, he is completely daddy’s boy. Hrithik doesn’t allow him to eat chocolate, and has explained to him that it isn’t good for him in such a way that Hrehaan will never go near one. Hrithik makes a great father. He isn’t strict or stern but has a knack of dealing with children. Offer Hrehaan a chocolate and he’ll say, “Chocolate na, daddy pat-pat!” laughs Roshan.

Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, Brad Pitt 's management firm for 25 years, has recently made an offer to India's heartthrob Hrithik Roshan him in Hollywood. And he has accepted it.

"Hrithik is not in negotiations yet to do any film... but currently reviewing abundance of screen plays constantly sent to him by his new managers in Hollywood for his debut project, he is taking his time and being selective to ensure the quality of his debut film," said Hrithik's spokesperson from the US in a press release.

Brillstein-Grey is an industry powerhouse that represents A-list stars such as Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Adam Sandler, and Nicolas Cage and has produced successful films like "Troy" and "The Chocolate Factory", in addition to critically acclaimed TV shows "The Sopranos".

The Indian superhero - approached several times by other Hollywood firms to act in films like "Pink Panther 2", which he refused - has agreed to pursue Brillstein-Grey's offers to lead him to a higher platform.

Jai Khanna, Hrithik's international manager from Brillstein-Grey, said: "We are thrilled to be working with such an international star. As an icon of masculinity and powerful character, he (Hrithik) truly embodies the star quality of cinema's great leading men.

Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4 starring Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Suresh Menon in lead roles is all set to hit theatres on April 11 . The film, directed by debutant director Jaideep Sen, is already create a lot of positive buzz, especially the ‘Break Free’ item number filmed on none other than Shah Rukh Khan.

As it is common news by now that even Hrithik Roshan is all set to do an item number on the same song and yes the D- Day has finally inwards when the actor gets into his dancing boots. Bollywood Hungama got in touch with Rakesh Roshan who gave all the details on the subject of the song, “Yes, Hrithik is shooting for the song from tomorrow (Mar 8). However, the wordings of the two songs are quite different. While Shah Rukh’s version would be feature in the film, Hrithik’s song would be used for promotional purposes and in the end credits”

Interestingly, while Ahmed Khan made SRK dance to his tunes in the item number, Ganesh Acharya would be choreographing Hrithik’s version of the song. Looks like the two songs are indeed a case of being ‘Same Same But Different’.

Rakesh Roshan has signed the well-known Latin actress Barbara Mori as the leading lady for his new venture Kites. Barbara will be paired with Hrithik Roshan.

The film also stars Kangana Ranaut. Currently the rest of the cast is still to be finalized. After Film Kraft’s first film Krazzy 4 which is being directed by Raja Sen, this is the second home production not directed by Rakesh Roshan.

Anurag Basu will direct Kites and the music is by Rajesh Roshan. The remaining cast and credits are currently being finalized. The casting is happening simultaneously in Bombay and Los Angeles.

It can be recalled that rumours about Penelope Cruz and Bruna Abdullah being part of Anurag's mega project have been doing the rounds in the press. Now, what remains to be seen is, how long will it be before the names are finally out. And we sure hope Anurag manages to get the beauties.

Hrithik Roshan gets an entry in NASA

Hindi films and foreign locations have always gone hand in hand be it Switzerland or Australia or for that matter the US. But for some reasons our stories have never really had any elements that would require the premises of world's premiere space research organization NASA, except one – Swades.

That's the reason we were pretty excited when sources revealed that Rakesh Roshan was on a recce in the States and has approached NASA to shoot his next film there. "Rakesh Roshan is in the States, he has been on a location hunt. And the news is that he has approached NASA and they have approved his request to let him shoot there," says a source close to his camp.

When we tried reaching Rakesh Roshan he did approve that he is indeed in the US. "I am in LA right now and will return only by 29 February," reads his SMS. However, the director - producer sent an outright denial to our query on the NASA progress. "They are false rumours," he said, claming he never really approached the organization.

It must be noted that if Rakesh had got the permission, Hrithik would have been the second hero to shoot there after Shah Rukh Khan, who played Mohan Bhargav, a NASA project manager in Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades. Hrithik, in the mean time, is readying up to play the lead in Anurag Basu's 'international' project, the lead actress for which is yet to be finalised.
