Jodhaa Akbar to release on 15th Feb.

UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowariker’s much-awaited epic romance Jodhaa Akbar, starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is now slated for a worldwide release on 15th February, 2008 .

The soundtrack, composed by music genius A.R. Rahman with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar, will release on 9th January through UTV’s new record label UTV Music. The change of release date is due to the fact that Ashutosh Gowariker, suffering with a severe back problem, has been advised bed rest for 21 days.

The director was planned to be in Chennai for this entire week to finish the background score of the film, but could not move out because of strict commands from his doctors not to travel. Referring to his back problem, Ashutosh stated, “I am sad that this had to happen in the thick of post-production; it is untoward, but it has to be dealt with.”

There's bad and good news for Hrithik Roshan's fans in 2008. Hrithik's next starrer would not be directed by his father. In fact, papa Roshan has decided to take a long vacation from direction. But hold on! Rakesh Roshan is producing a film to start in July 2008 that will feature Hrithik in a never-before avatar.

"It's an action thriller with a strong love story at its heart. Anurag Basu, whom both I and Hrithik think very highly of, is directing the film for us," reveals Rakesh Roshan a week before year-end, thereby putting an end to all wild assumption about the seriousness of Hrithik's knee injury. It's been a time of turmoil for Hrithik Roshan. A upsetting knee injury finally decided to act up seriously.

"The doctors told him he needed to rest the knee completely, and I mean completely, otherwise it would give way. The injury got motivated from all the stunts in his recent films including Krissh. It got to a point where his knee gave way completely. The doctors said he had to take complete rest for two months or face the consequences," says concerned papa Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik, who has just returned from two weeks in Singapore , now leaves for the Gold Coast for further getting better. He returns to complete an intricate item number for his father's first non-Hrithik production Krazzy 4.

"Well, people always wondered how I could make a film without Hrithik. So here he is, all set to do his career's first item song. My brother Rajesh Roshan has already recorded the song and I'm putting up an involved set for the song to be shot in March 2008. However, let me warn Hrithik's fans, if I feel his knee is not up to it, I won't shoot the song."

Hrithik Roshan to endorse Cinthol

After endorsing everything from cola to cell phones, the Indian ‘Greek God’ Hrithik Roshan will now endorse Cinthol. It seems like he intend to carry forward the ‘Hrithikmania’ into advertisement as well.

Father Rakesh Roshan confirms, “Yes it’s true that he is doing the Cinthol ad; however, I am not aware of the finer details.” The legal official procedure are still on; however by the end of week, work on the ad would begin.

Hrithik’s next release is going to be Ashutosh Gowarikar’s grand undertaking Jodhaa Akbar, which is slated to release on January 25.

Hrithik to star with VJ Bruna

The thrills behind the thriller Anurag Basu is making for Rakesh Roshan with Hrithik in the lead are getting more thrilling than the film itself. The hunt for Hrithik's leading lady is getting more intense. Several names had been put onward. Apparently, Rakesh Roshan, who is very close to Anil Kapoor and very fond of Sonam, wanted to cast her. But Sonam, atrociously awake of her conservative image, begged off. The role requires the girl to get seriously sexy with Hrithik.

Says Hrithik, "I'd love to work with Sonam. But not on this project. The role doesn't do justice to her. We're looking at someone from overseas, someone Latin American or Brazilian. So yeah, in that sense this would be my first international project." Director Anurag Basu says Sonam doesn't suit the role. "We've looked at many names, known and unknown in Bollywood. But that 'it' factor elude us. I am getting quite jittery. The girl's role is extremely bold. Actually, we've decided to cast someone worldwide, preferably Brazilian, because that's the behavior and profile of the leading lady in my film."

According to reliable reports, the girl chosen for the part is the Channel V model Bruna Abdullah. Child of an Arabian mother and Brazilian father, Bruna has been stationed in Mumbai, waiting for Bollywood to happen. She performed an extremely bold item song for Anubhav Sinha's Cash recently. Says a close friend of the Arabian-Brazilian veejay dancer, "Bruna is extremely uninhibited before the camera. That is why she was brought into Channel V which needed a girl to rival the worldwide looks, personality, and body language of MTV's veejay Mia. Bruna has her eyes set on Bollywood. Anubhav's item song was her stepping-stone. Anurag's film with Hrithik is her next big move."

However, the director denies Bruna has been penciled in for the Hrithik project. "I don't deny meeting her, like we've met so many other girls for the part. But Bruna hasn't been finalize. But it'll surely be an intercontinental face." Adds Rakesh Roshan, "It'll be a Spanish -speaking girl. We want to show love has no barriers."
