Hrithik Roshan to sell Coca Cola

After selling Hero Honda, Sony Ericsson W200i, Biscuits, Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan will be seen selling Coca-Cola. The theme is based on Jashan Mana Le, where a group of youngsters land up late one night and finding all the shops shut, they follows a tryst with Hrithik and goes for a magical ride, which leaves them in awe. Finally, the cold drink brings life to the moment and transforms it into a celebration.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkatesh Kini, vice-president (marketing), Coca-Cola India said that with the approach of summer they have decided to take the brand communication to the next level. They are pretty sure of the success of their new campaign and the new design of the bottle. They believe that the ad will definitely lure the people to take more sip of it.

The advertisement is filled with fun, enjoyment and exhilaration. The ad is mainly framed for the young generation but it will have mass appeal. Aamir Khan is a brand ambassador of Coca-Cola and it has been tentatively decided that the next campaign of the cold drink will feature its brand ambassador Aamir Khan. Hope Hrithik will be able to sell cola well.

PERSONAL QUOTES

(November 2000): “I take all this hysteria as a compliment.”

(2000): “I am glad I have the intelligence to understand what is happening to me. If I allow myself to get affected by all this hype, I’ll stunt my growth as an actor and be damned for life. I know that I still have a long way to go before I can even aspire to equal the achievements of any of the superstars. I know I am good at my job, and I am sure I will be damn good one day but right now, I also know how bad I can be.”

(November 2000): “I have been elevated to such a high status that the fall will be very steep.”

(December 2000): “Every once a week, I get up and feel that I cannot act any more. I just get very unsure of myself. But, once I give my first shot, I’m back on track. Insecurity isn’t bad, it makes me work harder.”

(December 2000): “Some day I want to be better than Shahrukh Khan. And I will be better than him, if I continue working the way I am. Some day, I would like to achieve more than what Shahrukh has achieved in his ten years. But first, give me my ten years of time.”

(February 2001): “Every moment of my life, I live under threat. I have two gunmen with me. If I die now I will be immortal. Everything finished in a year. I will be a legend!”

(July 2001): “I thought of every possible angle which would drive me towards stardom. But I never thought of, when I become a star, what will I do, how will I handle it. Everything has hit me all at once. I realize I don’t have the talent to handle it.”

(July 2001): “Hollywood is definitely happening to me but right now I’m not happening for Hollywood. Maybe if offers still last by 2005 I will. I’m committed until then.”

(2001): I make the best Spanish omelettes in the world, but I won’t tell you the recipe!

(March 2002): “I can be the best James Bond there is.”

(March 2000): I can never wear the same shirt twice because it’s always torn by the time I come home!

(June 2002): I won’t do a film with any film-maker unless he gives me a bound script… My date diary’s blank from 2003 onwards.

(2000, when asked about his fantasy woman): “Gabrielle Anwar. I had a huge crush on her for ever so long. Jessica Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). I thought she was really hot!”

(December 2002): “After two years of being in films I’ve realized that I don’t need to do movies just for the sake of it. Now I will not do a film unless the role is to die for. It may sound preposterous but I’d also like to do something like ‘Spiderman’ or ‘A Beautiful Mind’. Only such cinema stimulates me. I don’t want to do the routine stuff.”

(July 2003): “It’s not a prerequisite for an actor to be obsessed about his looks. I know there are people who don’t look in the mirror at all and I’m getting there.”

(July 2003): “I’ve never had a decent haircut except the short one I’m sporting right now for “Lakshya”.”

(July 2003): “I’m not religious. I don’t visit temples. But I hope there is a superpower.”

(July 2003): “Of course I’m curious about porn. It exists because there is a market for it. It needs to exist but it should be properly channelised. It shouldn’t be accessible to everyone.”

(July 2003): “My physique is all wrong. I’d like to change everything about my looks.”

(July 2003): “Quite often I feel that there is no God. War, natural calamities, handicaps, suffering. When I see all this, I fear there’s no God. And the thought scares me shitless.”

“I’m a child myself. So how can I think of having one right now!”

(September 2003): I’m above hits and flops now. I wish to go down in the annals of Indian cinema history as a good actor.

(January 2004): I don’t know fashion and I have no taste.

(January 2004): I’ve scrapped my entire working style and taken on a new approach. The release of Lakshya (2004) will prove whether the new approach is right or not. If it doesn’t work I’ll go back to the old mode of working. If it works, I’ll be adopting this style in all my roles.

(2004): I would like to meet the person who shot my father.

(July 2004): I am the person I am today primarily due to the fine example set by both my parents.

(July 2004): I’ve done films without optimum excitement. It didn’t work. I can afford to take my time now.

(July 2004): “Lakshya” is my most subtle performance. “Koi… Mil Gaya” was an in-your-face performance.

(July 2004): I’ve done various films for various wrong reasons. They didn’t get me anywhere

.

(August 2004): I am a complete ‘foodie’. It’s in the genes. I can’t stop eating! It’s only that I fear of the world finding out that I have a bad body which makes me strive to have my diet in place and exercise right.

DUGGU’S SECRETS

THE FIRST…

CRUSH…”Was on a girl called Dimple, two years my senior in school. She was in the fifth standard. I had a pretty bad crush, but I never let her know. I’d just adore her from a distance!”

GIRLFRIEND…”Suzanne. I fell in love with her for various reasons.”

ADULT MOVIE… “Not fair! You’re getting all my secrets out! It was at a friend’s place. It was his birthday and one of our friends brought this blue film over. But in the first five minutes we were so embarrassed and disgusted, that we put it off. Besides, his parents were in the next room, so we were really scared!”

KISS…”Too personal to talk about.”

HINDI MOVIE…”Must have been my dad’s… I don’t remember. I first acted in a film called Aap Ke Deewane, which was dad’s movie. I had a bit part in a song, got paid three hundred bucks, and bought balloons with it! As a kid, I loved balloons!”

TIME HE WORE LONG PANTS…”It certainly wasn’t a great occasion! My mom must have just put them on for me, yaar.”

DATE…”I was in the 10th standard, I think. This girl wanted to meet me, so all my friends tagged along to Essel World. I had my first date there, going on various rides!”

DROVE A CAR…”Also while in the 10th. I’d literally hide and drive! I would sit at the wheel, while my driver placed his legs on the accelerator and brake. I began with learning to manoeuvre the car, while the driver would shift the gears and things.”

WANNA KNOW MORE??

The coolest places you’ve visited…
“Queen’s Town in New Zealand, and Cape Town in South Africa. These are the most beautiful places in the world. They’re pure paradise. Queen’s Town has everything - the most beautiful lakes, mountains, valleys and even shopping spots. Cape Town has an amazing charm about it, which I can’t even begin to describe!”

The song you’d dedicate to your love…
“Oh, I’ve dedicated thousands of songs to my love!”

Your best feature…
“The fact that I always give people the benefit of doubt.”

How do you deal with stress?
“I attack the very thing that is stressing me out.”

CRAZY QUERY 1

If your house caught fire and all the people you loved were safe, what would be the one possession you’d go back to retrieve?
“My collection of photographs. They are very precious and I have spent years collecting them. I have a picture for every memory. ”

CRAZY QUERY 2

Do you ever go on to the Internet under another name and chat with people? What are the topics?
“For the past six months, I’ve been too busy to get on to the Net. But I have never chatted on the Net; just surfed it.”

CRAZY QUERY 3

Your biggest turn-on and turn-off?
“A smile is the biggest turn-on. Someone trying to create an impression, is a turn-off. Ditto, people who are conscious of their looks and who are always trying to show their best profile. They may be good looking but they are so conscious, that it spoils everything. ”

CRAZY QUERY 4

Would you like to be a father one day and if yes, what would you name your kids?
“I can’t think of myself as a father right now because I’d really need to have a very different view of the world, compared to my current one. I am very disillusioned with the world right now.”

Hattrick for Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan with JA

Jodha Akbar / Jodhaa Akbar has proved third time lucky for Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai and the superman Hrithik Roshan. The magical duo has already proved their magic in Dhoom 2 but this one was bigger.
Aishwarya Rai ’s hit movie hattrick started with Guru opposite now husband Abhishek Bachchan and continued with Dhoom 2 where she lip-locked opposite Bollywood hunk Hrithik. And again with Jodha Akbar, Aishwarya has proved that she is back ! Her Hollywood movies Pink Panther 2 and Singularity are still in post production but we doubt if the beauty queen needs to go back to Hollywood any more.

Hrithik Roshan has been magical right from his first movie Kaho Na Pyar Hain in his home production (Papa Rakesh Roshan ’s). And could deliver box office magic only in home productions which included science fantasy Koi Mil Gaya and sequel Krrish. But Hrithik has now three back to back Bollywood hits and much like Akshay Kumar and Shahrukh Khan, he is among the most dependable stars today.

But due credit for Jodha Akbar goes to the Oscar nominated director Ashutosh Gowarikar for this epic movie. Not all historical movies work well in Bollywood as proved by Umrao Jaan ( Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan) and Mangal Pandey [corrected: thanks natalia] (Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee).

Jodhaa Akbar already earned Rs. 25 crores over the weekend all over India and is doing great abroad. The movie started slow but is already among the top 5 Bollywood movies in box office numbers. The controversies in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are still on. But as we have seen in the past, controversies help the movies to stay in the headlines and help box office statistics.
